leaving guangxi province

so, i am back in beijing now. tomorrow i leave for japan to see yoshie for about 2 weeks. i am excited to go! really excited to go! these are a few last pictures of the area. every morning at about 7-8am the women do the laundry in the pool.
just a nice picture ya ge took.

make sure to focus on the steps. they are quite amazing an intricate.

we saw many of these post holders in the city. from what we know now talking to more people we are guessing that the older parts of the village can be dated to about 600 years old.

times change. i think in many ways communism is dead in china, but i am surprised at how well this propoganda lasted from 60 years ago. this slogan is proclaiming that mao will free the world.

this nice old lady has the nicest (super clean) house in long tan. her husband passed away and they never had children. sometimes tour groups come by and she makes lunch for them. she also works in the field sometimes (at 70) to make some extra money.

sitting in another old house.

i am excited to send you pictures of japan when i get there!
